Tapping the latest technology to monitor species, populations, and smart fencing techniques that allow free movement of migratory wildlife, Ol Pejeta prides itself on being at the cutting edge of conservation innovation.

As the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, and the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, the Conservancy also safeguards some of the most vulnerable wildlife in the world besides advocating for change.

Enjoy a hot lunch within the Conservancy before driving back to the resort in the late afternoon.

Enjoy an evening game viewing drive in the park.  Known all over the world for its flamingoes, it’s alkaline and is recognized as being one of the natural wonders of the world. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingos, of course,

have always been the main attraction.  At times there may be almost 2 million flamingos in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lake shore.

Day 7 – Lake Nakuru National Park to Lake Naivasha

Return to the lodge for breakfast and check-out and drive to nearby Lake Naivasha, one of the freshwater lakes in the Great Rift Valley. In Kenya we have only two of these lakes, the other being Lake Baringo. Lake Naivasha is home to an incredible variety of bird species, hippos, fish and various aquatic plants.  The fresh water from this lake is used to irrigate flowers and fresh vegetables grown in this area. Most of the vegetables sold in Nairobi come from Lake Naivasha and environs.  Most of the flowers are exported.

Lunch in the lodge followed by free time at leisure before embarking on a Boat Cruise in the lake, the highest and the most beautiful of the Rift Valley lakes.  A boat safari ride here allows you to spot Hippo and numerous Bird species including Kingfisher, Fish Eagle, Herons, Jacanas and more. The lake itself is remarkably picturesque, set against a purple backdrop of a volcanic mountain range and lined by thick yellow barked Acacia trees. In terms of wildlife the lake is home to over a thousand protected Hippo and the shores of the lake also host small numbers of Giraffe, Zebra, Waterbuck and the odd eland and wildebeest. The Boat ride is therefore an exciting yet relaxing lake safari experience with plenty of interesting sights to enjoy.
