ITINERARY

Day 1– Arrival Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Gran Melia Hotel in Arusha where you have been booked on a bed and breakfast.

This spectacular hotel is located between the Serengeti and Kilimanjaro National Parks, opening out onto all of Tanzania’s majestic natural beauty. Day 2– Arusha to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Breakfast in the hotel and meet up with our representative and your dedicated Safari Driver Guide at the lobby. After introductions and a pre-safari briefing, depart and drive up the western wall of the Great Rift Valley. Your driver guide will stop at strategic viewpoints for photography where you will come out and view the escarpment and take photos.

Drive on to The Ngorongoro Conservation Area, climbing to the altitude of 8,000 feet. You continue to ascend to the exterior of the crater reaching its rim and here your first glimpse of what has often been referred to as the “Eighth wonder of the World.” The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to an ecosystem that is unlike any other in Tanzania.

Lunch in the lodge followed by an afternoon at leisure.

Day 3 – Ngorongoro Conservation Area/Crater Tour

Breakfast in the lodge and descend to the floor of the crater for a day of game viewing drives! Explore the

100-square mile crater with your own safari vehicle and guide for a completely personalised experience. Watch the amazing herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelles that cross the caldera on their annual migration and try to spot the lions and leopards that hunt them.

A spectacular, natural sanctuary for over 25,000 animals, including the black rhino the crater is also area inhabited by the Masai tribe. As the sun sets on the western side of the crater rim, ascend and drive back to the lodge to refresh for dinner.

Day 4 – Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast depart and drive to Serengeti National Park with a brief stop at the Olduvai Gorge. Olduvai Gorge the ‘Crater of Mankind’ is world famous for the Archaeological discoveries made there by Dr. Louis Leakey and Mary Leakey. Drive on to Gran Melia Serengeti Lodge for check-in and lunch.

In harmony with the fabulous natural surroundings of the Serengeti National Park, this lodge offers an intense wildlife experience accompanied by all the comforts of the most exclusive accommodation. Elegant rooms inspired by Maasai traditions with spectacular views of the hotel gardens or Serengeti plains. Afternoon game viewing drive before returning to the lodge in the early evening to refresh for lunch.

Days 5 & 6 – Serengeti National Park

Two full days in Serengeti National Park with morning and afternoon game viewing drive in the park, apart from the Selous, this is the largest of all the Parks in Tanzania, summed up as ‘one of the most unique areas in the world’. The Serengeti contains the largest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, on a scale which has no parallel anywhere in the world. Even during the height of the migration towards the Masai Mara, there is a huge concentration of plains game in the Reserve, mainly concentrated around the watering places, and with good chances also of seeing the predators at work.

Day 7 – Fly Serengeti to Arusha and Departure

After breakfast in the lodge, drive to Seronera Airstrip for a schedule flight to Arusha Airport where you will be met by our representative and transfer to Gran Melia Hotel Arusha for lunch. Later you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your homebound international flight
